Adrian Alegria marks his Piston Recordings debut with the fantastic Parara EP. Born in Baracaldo (Vizcaya) currently living in Pamplona (Navarra), he started very young with the music, at 5 years he began playing piano and continued studying until 15. Attracted by electronic music, he started to learn mixing on his own and did not take long to start his career as a DJ. He went on to play at major clubs in the Basque Country, Navarra and La Rioja as Txitxarro, Itzela-Dcibelia, Txuribeltz and more as well as playing abroad at Club No. 65 in London. His tracks have been released on various top labels and have been championed by international artists such as Roger Sanchez, Tocadisco, De La Swing, Peter Gelderblom and Dennis Cruz. Thanks to his passion for electronic music, his evolution has been very rapid. In 2011 he began his career on the radio at Espiral FM Pamplona, taking the title of radio technician, with the Tribal Beats program. Currently he works for ATICA FM in his new Alegria Sessions show. His sets and productions are very personal. Melodies, tribal influences, atmospheres, mixed with House and Deep Techno. We’re excited to have him here and we hope to hear more from him soon.
Parara is a smooth and sexy slice of deep house goodness. Perfectly balanced for the dance floor, the drum section gets the toes tapping with infectious rhythms as a playful bassline ensures that the booty will sway. A mellow sound, enhanced by cool vocals throughout, the track captivates thanks to that mesmerizing bass. Top-notch stuff that will not disappoint.
Nassau opens with an organic drum sequence which instantly locks you on. Soft kicks join in creating a flowing rhythmic groove as various percussions stack up. Warm, soulful Rhodes chords add intrigue as melodic vocals add a little spice to the groove. Melodic strings come through to give the track a dynamic edge before funky saxophone riffs provide that gentle boost. A superb cut that is not to be missed.
What’s Going On takes us straight to the floor with an upfront beat encased in vibrant rhythms and some very cool rap style vocals. The track has a distinctly funky groove thanks to some nifty chord and key play. On the low end, a deep, warming bass adds depth and power. The drum section dominates with feisty patterns and a tight construction. A definite must for any deep house music lover’s crate.
